Our Founder Danielle explains why she started DansTogether, a different kind of first dance coaching

Hi, I’m Danielle

I know how nerve-wracking the idea of dancing in front of people can feel.

I’ve been dancing since the age of three and coaching for over 20 years across ballroom, Latin, street dance and more. I’ve competed on the open ballroom and Latin circuit and I love dance. But what I care about most is how people feel when they’re dancing.

DansTogether grew from years of being the ‘go-to friend’ for nervous couples who wanted help feeling more confident, without being pushed into a big choreographed routine.

After leaving a corporate career, I created DansTogether so I could help more couples feel calm, connected and quietly confident on their big day.

A different kind of first dance coaching

My approach is simple: connection over perfection.

Instead of teaching rigid routines, I help couples learn:

  • Easy anchor points they can return to, whatever the song

  • How to move together naturally, with gentle leading and following

  • How to feel calm, present and confident, even with eyes on you

Think of it as freestyle with a little safety net.

Why DansTogether

I believe your first dance should feel like you not a performance.

Whether you’re nervous, time poor or just want something meaningful without the pressure, my role is to help you feel at ease, connected and quietly confident when it matters.

What it feels like to work together

Sessions are relaxed, private and judgement free.

We move at your pace, meet you where you are and keep things practical and supportive.

You don’t need any dance experience.
You don’t need rhythm.
You don’t need to have decided your song.

You just need to show up and we’ll figure it out together.

“Most couples tell me they just don’t want to look awkward.
I help you feel prepared and at ease, so instead of worrying about what to do with your feet, you can focus on each other and be present in the moment.”
